Idea for final

My idea is to take a little animal, like a little fish, and make them want to be a larger animal, like a shark. The little fish will try whatever she can to become strong and mighty like a shark, but will she achieve her dreams??? I am not sure how I am animating it yet, but it will be very cute :)

Bill Viola video review

Viola is arguably the most famous videographer in the world. He is the inventor of video art. There is a poetry to his work, and he delves into many different types of videos. His videos are visually invigorating, and the viewer is taken on a journey through his exhibitions. Viola is an artist to admire, because he pioneered much of what videography is today. He presents the human condition so profoundly that everyone who views his work must react to it.

Paul McCarthy “Painter” video review

This video is WEIRD. I can not understand what McCarthy is saying, I don't get why he has a big nose and hand, and I am all over confused. I like it. I especially loved it when he started painting and he kept yelling "Godddd" "Godddd". Im really intrigued by this video, even though it creeps the hell out of me. Whatever Paul is trying to convey here, I do not really understand, but I sincerely appreciate this weird video, because of its oddness.

Joan Jonas video review

Jonas plays up her use of body movements and sound in her videos. She translates her thoughts thoroughly in these videos and she uses her work to communicate her thoughts and emotions. She often uses the space itself to convey these feelings, like in her video Wind. On the windiest day of the year, Jonas used the weather to create emotion in her works. She often uses multiple artists as well to make a collaborative effort on her work. Overall, I respond well to these videos, and I respect Jonas as a creator using the medium of film to convey herself.

Bruce Nauman video review

In this video, Nauman was "Walking in an Exaggerated Manner", and it was filmed for ten minutes. He was walking swaying his hips in slow motion for that entire time, and there seems to be an underlying meaning to it. I never really understood videos like this, and I often get frustrated because I am not sure how to appreciate them properly. Nauman seems to be a sophisticated artist and has profoundly impacted the video community with strange videos like this.

Matthew Barney video reaction

The video I watched from Barney, Cremaster Cycle Trailer, was extremely odd with its imagery and symbolism. There were different shots of unrelated things, and the entire video seemed surreal at times. Because of its oddness, this video reminds me of the video examples we were shown in class. I can possibly take inspiration from this video, if I wanted to make something extremely abstract. It was difficult to find the true meaning of this video, but nevertheless, I still appreciate it.
